Trigun In the distant future, on a desert planet, there is a legendary gunman. His name is Vash the Stampede, aka the Human Typhoon. A gunslinger so dangerous, that a $$60,000,000,000 reward has been placed on his head! Vash, also known as the Humanoid Typhoon, has been credited with the destruction of several towns, but miraculously, there is no record of him ever taking a life, However, only two things ever happen to those who catch up to Vash - they either crawl away wounded (mostly from self-inflicted damage), or they stagger away in disbelief that such a dork could possibly be the man they are looking for!
Created by Yashuhiro Nightow, Trigun is composed of 26 episodes and is based on the manga, Trigun originally published in the magazine Shounen Captain, from the publishing company Tokuma Shoten, serialized from June 1995 to February 1997, however the publishing company stopped the serialization of the series so it was moved to the magazine Young King Ours published by Shounen Gahosha under a the title Trigun Maximum.
The setting of the series is an unnamed, barren and harsh planet revolving on star system with two suns. The people are humans from Earth, who were remnants of the SEEDS Project. This was an ambitious expedition to find a new home for humans since the earth was terribly polluted and its resources depleted, however on the way to find a new home, the expedition met disaster at the hands of one of its own, the deranged twin of Vash, Knives(these two were brought along with the SEEDS project, and were physically and mentally superior than the average human) forced all the ships to crash on the barren planet, killed all of the crew, including Rem Savarem, who taught Vash about the technology to make a planet suitable for humans to live and to value all forms of life. Vash put all this all in his heart but unfortunately, Knives who was abused by a crew member was twisted by hate and revenge and vowed to kill all "evil" humans and thus engineered the destruction of Project SEEDS.
The Legend of the Humanoid Typhoon. Vash leaves Knives after a shooting incident involving themselves. He went on to study the technology to tame the planet they crash-landed on. He went to meet a scientist from July town who was also researching about the technology to make a planet habitable, but was ambushed by Knives in the scientist's office(he already was killed by Knives), Knives activated Vash's "Angel Gun" and leveled the entire town of July. He was therefore framed for the death of the scientist and the destruction of the town of July and a bounty of 6 billion double dollars is put on the head of Vash--now known as the "Humanoid Typhoon".
The problem is the bounty hunters after him, who hunt him down with so much bravado and gusto that causes heavy collateral damage to the towns where Vash is said to have visited, and all this is blamed on Vash, enter the insurance agents Meryl and Milly from the Bernardy Insurance Company. They were sent to babysit Vash and minimize property damage. Their problem is no one knows what the real Vash the Stampede looks like.
