Lupin III August 9, 1999, Lupin III was first aired in the Philippines by GMA Network. Arsene Lupin III, heir to the title of the greatest thief in the world, is the grandson of the Lupin character created by Maurice LeBlanc in the early 1900's and like his legendary sires he is armed with his quick wit, charisma, out of this world luck and dexterity, and his most trusted friends, the sharpshooter Daisuke Jigen, the master swordsman Ishikawa Goemon and his sometimes ally, sometimes enemy, "mercenary girlfriend" Fujiko Mine. Based loosely on the James Bond series, Lupin III usually seeks new challenges to his skill and new women. And always on Lupin's heels is the klutzy Intepol detective Zenigata who has sworn to capture Lupin alive. First aired in 1971 with 26 episodes and then Shin Rupan Sansei in 1977 on Nihon TV.
